To maximize the impact of the makerspace experience, we strongly encourage educators to intentionally align a chosen activity with the concepts currently being taught in your classroom. The K-5 Course Catalog offers a set of lessons designed for elementary students to transform project-based activities into engaging, standards-aligned learning experiences.

To assist in choosing a lesson we suggest following these guidelines:

1. Review the lesson plans and the corresponding curriculum overview tables listed in the Course Catalog.

2. Identify the Core Concept and Primary SEEd Standard listed for each activity, these plans are directly aligned with the Utah Core Standards.

3. When choosing a lesson, look for opportunities where the makerspace activity complements your Disciplinary Core Ideas.

4. Choose a date and time on the Field Trip Booking Calendar.
